At home cakes with toppings are generally called cupcakes and anything without – a muffin. But the actual difference is not only in hte topping – but in the pastry itself, and the cupcake one is made with a lot of butter. Here is the recipe I use:
- 125 gr. butter
- 125 gr. self-rising flour/or regular flour + baking powder
- 100 gr. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 vanilla stick
- pinch salt
Mix well the eggs and the butter, add the inside of the vanilla stick, than add the salt and flour. Pour the mixture to half or 1/3 of the molds and bake in preheated oven at 180 Celsius for about 20 minutes.
